Assignment Brief 2: Task 5 - Pre Production Planning (Proposal)

Proposal
Prepared by
…………………………….

The proposal is to make a music video for The Loveable Rogues – Honest ft. Ms D. We are going to be filming in various locations, these include; Southend, London and a train station/on a train. We have decided to film here because they are fun places to go and they are places that hold loads of memories for people. The target audience for my music video is going to be teenagers and young adults, this is because the band generally aim their music at this age range.
The advert will start with the band performing in the middle of London singing the song, playing a guitar and playing a ukulele. Then there will be shots switching between being on a train and still performing in London. After a few switches between London and a train ride there will be shots of the band having fun in Southend by playing in the arcades and laughing and joking on the beach. When the women starts singing there will be shots of the girl singing in London and singing at Southend. Finally the music video will end with the band sitting on a wall eating chips and laughing and joking with each other.

Assignment brief 2: Task 4 - Analyse The Track

Task 4 - Analyse The Track

This is the lyrics to the song that we have chosen to make a music video for, The Loveable Rogues - Honest ft. Ms D.

Meaning:

The meaning of this song is about someone trying to change the way the were and wanting to become more 'Honest' so that the person they love will come back and see that they have changed the way they were which made them leave. The song is also about how days will be better once they are back together because he is a changed person. They probably chose the song to mean this because people may be able to relate to the lyrics and what it is about, because they will be able to relate to the song they will enjoy it more and this will cause them to listen to the song more. With more people listening to the song, because they can relate to it, the sales will increase and they will be able to get more of a profit.

Content:

The content of this song is very repetitive and most of the lyrics are repeated. They would have chose to make the song repetitive because then it will get the meaning of the song across easier then if it was all different lyrics. The lyrics are also repeated because then it can be easily followed and people wouldn't have to listen to the whole song to understand the meaning. Another reason for it being repetitive is that it will stick into peoples head because the lyrics are repeated and they will be able to learn the song easily. This is a good thing because with the song in peoples heads then they will be thinking of the song and would want to buy the song so they can listen to it again because it is catchy.

Imagery:

The image that this song pictures is one of a couple breaking up because of someone not being 'honest'. It also pictures the person trying to change the way they were so they can get the person they love back. They most likely aim to portray an image like this so people can relate a situation to the song and it goes very well with what the song is about. Also the song portrays an image like this because more people are likely to be able to relate to something like this. They will use the song to create an image because most people are likely to have that image on their ind for a while after listening to the song and this may influence them to buy the song so they can listen to it again. With a better image and more people buying the song they will be able to get more sales of their song.

Narrative:

The song doesn't really have a story behind it because there isn't a music video for it yet for people to see the full story. People may be able to create a story for the song in their imaginations when they are listening to the song. During the lyrics there is times where you are able to follow it to create a story but other times there is just a repeat of lyrics so you will most likely imagine the same thing happening again.

Assignment Brief 2: Task 3 - Analyse the Artist

Task 3 - Analyse the Artist

Performers Style:

The performers style is the way the performer(s) would dress during their music videos or while they are performing on stage. The performers that we have chosen would dress very trending and stylish. They would wear chinos or jeans which are quite tight, they would also wear jumpers or a t-shirt and shirt. Some of the performers would also wear snapback caps. Below is the example of what they would wear.

Performers Image:

The performers image is the way they are portrayed to people for example performers like Lady GaGa have an image of being revealing and very strange because of the way she acts and performs during her  music videos. So The Loveable Rogues have an image of being very lively and have fun while they are performing because they always are laughing and joking during the performances which shows they are more for the fun then they are serious. As you see in the picture below they are having a fun time.

Songs Style:

The song style is generally what type of artists perform for example if they mainly focus on slow songs, fast songs, happy songs, sad songs and even what they sing about during their songs. The Loveable Rogues generally have fast songs that always have different meanings. In their songs they generally have a ukulele and/or a guitar playing in the background because they have them as part of their image so they play them in songs. Below is one of their songs What A Night. In the music video you see them having fun and enjoying themselves during the music video which really shows that their songs are not very serious but they are also very fast. Also during the music video you hear a ukelele and guitar play which is showing that they always follow their image and their style.
